Letter from Residents of Clifton park

Dear Neighbor,

Change for the sake of change is not always a good thing, as we have learned.  As a neighborhood,  we are a diverse group, coming from many different backgrounds.  We have lived in many communities and have varied political beliefs.  We have chosen to live in Clifton Park.  Why?  That’s the question we answer here and hope others will remember when considering the upcoming town elections.

1. The present town board listens to the people.

When a minority of residents, mainly in the Rexford area, complained about using newly acquired land for sports fields, the town listened and made the new park passive.

When the minority complained about new playground equipment at the Commons, the board changed the plan and is now in the process of refurbishing the “Castle”, splinters and all.

2.  We are debt free and have money in reserve

A very important issue, especially in these economic times. It’s nice to have a surplus when other places are facing deficits.

3.  The town offers great recreation activities and artistic opportunities for our citizens of all ages.

Whether you are a 10 year old kicking a soccer ball on Saturday morning, or a 60 year old enjoying a game of bocce at the Adult Community Center, the town supports you.

Whether you like a Broadway musical, or a swinging Sirsy” performance on a warm Summer night, the town supports you.

Want to sing in a chorus?  Play in a band or orchestra?  The town supports you.  Want to bike?  The town has provided the trails for you.

4.  A great school district.

Because of the fact that so many smart, forward thinking people want to move to Clifton Park, the school district flourishes.

Shenendehowa is the envy of  many communities.

We have an exciting and wonderful community.  Let’s keep it working for all of us.  Why change a good thing?  Please support the candidates running under the Republican banner this November.  Supervisor Phil Barrett and the entire town board have earned and deserve our support in November.  They have ours.  How about joining us?
